New To SUP and Want to try something new?
A fantastic opportunity for anyone to learn the basic's or gain more confidence on the board.
Its fun, safe and everyone needs to try it at least once.
Depending on your confidence, i will also teach you how to do a safe rescue if you fall in, as its all part of the fun. If the weather is cold we will do this towards the end of the lesson.
You will learn the basics, to prone and turn and I am confident I will even get you standing up paddling by the end of the session.
Currently running a Private group of 2 persons max .
Duration of 1 hour on the water plus a small amount of time doing land based learning and safety briefing prior to the lesson.

What's included?

- Private group of up to max 2 (group of 4 for summer months.)

What to bring?
During March / April the weather and water will still be a little cold so you will need a wetsuit or waterproofs, please note these do not come part of the package.
- Clothes that you don't mind getting wet in. Ideally made of synthetic materials or a wetsuit. (avoid cotton and denim).
- Wetsuit boots / socks or water shoes or trainers you don't mind getting wet.
- A towel and Warm clothes to change into afterwards
- Don't forget your smile ;-)

- All participants must fill out a booking form before attending any lessons. (this will be emailed prior to session).
- Minimum age 8+ (must be water confident)
- Under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Be fit to take part in moderate exercise. Our boards have a maximum weight of 130kg

- Meet the instructor (me, Steph) we will discuss your past experience.
- Safety briefing
- Board at Lechlade Bridge.
- Practice paddling on our knees, then moving to a standing position.
- Practice turns and different strokes.
- Embark safely
- Debrief

Wanting a fun friendly adventure along the Thames.
Why not spend it paddling along at your own speed seeing the Cotswolds from a brand new perspective.
This is your chance to learn the basic skills and put them into practice on a mini adventure.
Set sail after a water safety briefing from The Riverside in Lechlade, prone and paddling kneeling down and then progressing to Standing.
Learning how to paddle forwards, backwards, turning and stopping. Practice rescue techniques and having a few little games to keep you on your toes, all while taking in the scenery of the Historic River in the Cotswolds.

- Food or drink in a carrier or waterproof container, we will have a little break to take in the surroundings and take pictures during the lesson. (Please either give your mobiles and keys to myself at the start of the lesson for safety.)

- At St Johns Lock, we will learn different strokes to turn and reverse and then play a few games. Float on the boards and have a drink / snack (these are not provided) and take in the view with a photo opportunity.
