SUP-Pilates
Beginning In April.
A Whole New Pilates Experience - You’ve heard of SUP Yoga before but now here’s another opportunity to get your core fired up with SUP Pilates.
The benefits of traditional Pilates with the added extra oomph of instability on a SUP board (aka floatation device) encourages focus and being fully present in the moment.
Pilates is much loved for creating core stability and strength, and long, lean muscles through challenging but gentle sequences. You’ll add a whole new level of challenge by performing the same sequence on a paddleboard under the guidance of a competent SUP and Pilates instructor.
Stand up paddleboarding and Pilates combined.
A total body conditioning and balance training lesson that encourages strength and grace. This session will focus on breath, body awareness, and alignment which will help increase core stability, improve balance, and strengthen the body.
Simple exercises performed in a mat-based class takes on a whole new challenge with the movement of the paddleboard in water.
No prior experience is required to participate.
This is a beginner to intermediate level lesson.
Modifications and advancements will be introduced to provide each student an opportunity to work at their own level.
SUP Pilates is different from practicing on land as it requires respect and acceptance of the water and weather, and some humility for the occasional dip in the water.
